Party On Brewer Street Ends With Noise Violation

NEWPORT, RI — Police gave two women a summons at 2:30 a.m. Friday after a party they threw made too much noise. Laura White and Katie McKenna, both 21, and of Newport, were cited for the noise violation after a zoning employee measured the decibel level at 62.4 from an adjoining property line. The complaint came in around 1:44 a.m. Some 20 people were at the party on Brewer Street, police said. They were drinking alcohol, but all were 21 or older.
