Pell Students Get Police Escort to School this Morning
The elementary school students didn't get into trouble. They won a raffle and a chance to "Ride with Newport's Finest."
A group of students at Pell Elementary School made quite an entrance at school this morning, arriving in a police cruiser, and it wasn’t because they’ve been up to no good.
It’s because they’re prize winners in a recent raffle, winning a chance to “Ride with Newport’s Finest to School.”
For the children, was a chance to get a peek at the inside of one of the department’s newer Ford SUVs and to spend a little time with Newport Community Police Officer Anson Smith.
