Police Arrest Convicted Sex Offender Wanted on Court Warrants
Jason Allan Abdullah, 31, of Newport, registered as a sex offender but then failed to update his address, as the law requires.

NEWPORT, RI—Jason Allan Abdullah, 31, of Newport, was released Nov. 11 from the Adult Correctional Institutions after serving time for first degree child molestation. He registered as a sex offender in Newport and gave the McKinney Shelter as his address.
However, Abdullah only stayed at the shelter until Nov. 21 and did not update his whereabouts.
A patrol officer on Thursday spotted him standing outside the Rolling Green Apartments on Admiral Kalfbus Road. Since Abdullah was wanted on a court warrant for failing to change his address, which is a felony, he was arrested Dec. 1 at 2:10 p.m.
