Police charged William James Grant, 31, of Norwich, Conn., with making domestic threats on Tuesday.
Police said a Newport woman reported on March 1 that Grant threatened to punch her in the face and kill her.
Police responded to an apartment in Newport on Tuesday armed with an arrest warrant and said they found Grant in a bedroom. He reportedly refused to give police his name but they were confident they had the right man.
