Newport Police Raid 7 Businesses Selling Louis Vuitton, Other Knock-Offs
The value of the merchandise was about $700,000, police said.
NEWPORT, RI—If you bought a Louis Vuitton bag from one of these businesses, you might want a refund. Newport police on Tuesday raided these shops:
• Be Dazzled-23 America’s Cup Ave.
• Be Dazzled-225 Goddard Row
• Heaven on Earth-3 Christie’s Landing
• Chez Shell-408 Thames St.
• Heaven on Earth-431 Thames St.
• Vintage to Vogue-489 Thames St.
• Vintage to Vogue Too-489 Thames St.
Hundreds of suspected counterfeit goods, such as jewelry, handbags and purses were seized from the businesses, police said. The merchandise includes high-end brand names and federally registered trademarks, such as Louis Vuitton, Michael Kors, Tory Burch and Chanel. The retail value of the seized items totaled more than $700,000. No arrests were made. The investigation is ongoing.
