Police Seek Suspects in Friday Shooting in Newport

Two men are wanted in connection with a shooting outside the Festival Field Apartment Complex on Sunday.

Police said Christopher Rodriguez, 22; and Joshua Melendez Torres, 20, are wanted on charges of assault to committ a felony, murder and conspiracy, and assault to commit a felony.

The shooting happened outside Building 6. The victim, 25, drove himself to Saint Anne’s Hospital in Fall River after being shot in the chest with the shotgun.

Police said the victim’s wounds were non life-threatening.
