Portsmouth Woman Driving with Vodka Bottle, Marijuana and Three Juveniles: Newport Police Allege:
Sophia Mairs, 18, of Portsmouth, was arrested after a citizen reported her blue Subaru was "all over the road," police said.

NEWPORT, RI—Sophia Mairs, 18, of Portsmouth, received a summons for Driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, her first offense, Possession of marijuana (1 oz. or less by a person over 18); Underage Drinking (minor under 21); and Driving after her license was denied or revoked. She was also cited for laned road violations.
A citizen called police about a blue Subaru "all over the road," crossing the double yellow lines and hitting curbs, police said. The car was initially reported on Harrison Avenue near Hammersmith Farm, but traveled into Downtown by Spring Street. A patrol officer spotted the vehicle and ultimately made the traffic stop at Connell Highway and VanZandt.
Police allege there were four people in the car, including the driver, all juveniles. They searched the car and allege they found a backpack with 5.6 grams of marijuana and a 1.75 liter bottle of Burnett's Vodka, plus as 12 oz. Amstel Light. The Vodka bottle was 3/4 full, police allege.

Mairs was released to her father's custody.
