Providence Man Charged with Domestic at Festival Field

A Providence man was arrested after police responded to the Festival Field apartments for a possible domestic violence case.

NEWPORT, RI—Police responded to the Festival Field apartments early Thursday morning for a report about a possible case of domestic violence. When they arrived, police allege they heard a man yelling. Once inside the apartment, they found a shower curtain had been ripped down and other signs of damage.

However, the woman resident denied any physical altercation had occurred.

Police interviewed the man who also denied any physical violence had happened. But ultimately, Christopher Rodriguez, 24, of Providence, was arrested at 1:50 a.m. He was charged with Obstructing an officer (for initially giving a name other than his own) and with Domestic Disorderly Conduct.
