Public Meetings Planned To Discuss The Future Of Newport Schools

Three public meetings will be held to discuss the future of Newport's schools and plans for a new Rogers High School.

NEWPORT, RI — Newport Public Schools want your input on the future pf the city's schools. Parents, students, teachers and members of the community are invited to attend a series of public workshops to offer their input.

Each session will follow the same agenda and will discuss the future of Newport's schools, particularly plans for a new Rogers High School. The sessions will be moderated by Studio JAED, a consulting firm that represents Newport Public Schools and is in charge of architectural planning for the new high school.

Sessions will be held on the following dates:

  • May 21: Pell Elementary School cafeteria, 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  • May 23: Newport Public Library, 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • May 23: Thompson Middle School library, 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
