Queen Mary 2 Spotted in Newport
The ocean liner is paying a trip through Newport's waters.
The Queen Mary 2, or the QM2 as it is more affectionately termed, is paying a visit to Newport's waters.
The liner is the first one built since it's equally royal predecessor, the Queen Elizabeth 2, thiry-five years earlier. Since its maiden voyage in 2004 from Southampton, England to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., the QM2 has been providing transatlantic luxury travel accommodations.
At 1,132 feet, the QM2 is 113 feet longer than the original Queen Mary.
