Red Cross Helping 14 after Newport Fire

Nobody was hurt in the fire, which damaged the house at 22-24 Catherine Street.

The American Red Cross is helping 14 people in multiple families after Friday’s fire on Catherine Street.

The Red Cross said two adults and two children in two families received help with emergency housing, food and clothing needs. Four adults in two families got food and clothing help, a family of one adult and two children got food, bedding and household help; one adult got food, clothing and bedding help; and a family of two adults got emergency housing, food and clothing help.

The four displaced children also received stuffed animal toys.

Nobody was injured in the fire, which broke out at 22-24 Catherine Street at around 11:15 a.m. Friday.
