Resident Asks for Help after Newport Break-In

The picture is not good, but the resident is holding out hope that someone might recognize the suspect.

The feeling of violation after a break-in can leave one feeling sick.

That’s the case for Kip Godbout of Newport, whose house was robbed last week.

Godbout said that among the items that went missing was a credit card that was subsequently used at the Macy’s in the Providence Place Mall in Providence.

The grainy photo is low quality and it’s very hard to make out any of the suspect’s facial features, but Godbout said he hopes someone might recognize something to help police track down the thief.

In the photo, the man appears to be wearing a hat and a white shirt with pockets. It looks as if he’s got a bit of a gut.
