Rhode Island Hazardous Weather Outlook: Thunderstorms
Yes, it's been a beautiful morning. That's about to change, it appears.

Brief but strong storms could pop up this afternoon, interrupting today's so-far beautiful weather. The National Weather Service says some "strong to severe thunderstorms are anticipated this afternoon. Gusty winds and hail are the primary threats."
As of now there is just a hazardous weather outlook for all of Rhode Island, even as some storms begin to pop up. The NWS Storm Prediction Center says there is a 40 percent chance a severe thunderstorm watch is issued, but that focus is mostly on this area in Massachusetts.

The NWS says Rhode Island is at "marginal" risk, meaning isolated severe thunderstorms are possible. Brief bouts of strong winds, heavy rain, lightning, thunder and even some hail are very possible.
