RI Reminder: Last Day To Apply For A Mail-In Ballot
New to this year's election, voters casting their ballot by mail no longer have to pay for the postage due to new funding in the budget.

PROVIDENCE, RI — The last day for registered voters to apply for a mail-in ballot is Oct. 16.
New to this year's election, voters casting their ballot by mail no longer have to pay for the postage due to new funding in the budget, Rhode Island Secretary of State Nellie Gorbea said
To vote by mail, voters need to fill out the application and return it to their local board of canvassers by Tuesday, Oct. 16.

The application is available for download here. People can also get applicantions by calling their local board of canvassers.
For ballots to count, they have to be received by the State Board of Elections by 8 p.m. on Nov. 6.

If an eligible voter misses the mail ballot application deadline, they can still vote by emergency mail ballot at their local board of canvassers until 4 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 5. The State Board of Elections must receive completed emergency mail ballots by 8 p.m. on Nov. 6.
