RI Temperatures Approaching Record Highs Thursday
Near record high temperatures are expected for much of New England with the Providence area reaching 93.

If you think Wednesday is hot, you wouldn't be wrong it is. With temperatures reaching 87 in the Providence area and humidity at 71 percent, school districts such as North Kingstown have already called for an early release.
Thursday though it's going to get much hotter and happen fast. Near record high temperatures are expected for much of New England with the Providence area reaching 93.

Outside though, it's going to feel more like temperatures are approaching triple digits. It's going to feel like it's 99 outside in the Providence area.

There's also a threat of thunderstorms for Thursday. There's a 50 percent chance of rain to go along with 68 percent humidity.

It's going to cool off rapidly after Thursday. Here's the rest of the week's forecast:
Friday - Mostly cloudy with a high of 73.
Saturday - Partly cloudy with a high of 71. Temperatures are expected to drop as low as 56.
