RI Weather: Downpours, Thunderstorms, Heavy Winds Into Wednesday
Heavy rain throughout Tuesday will be followed by a few potentially strong thunderstorms Wednesday, according to forecasters.

Severe weather is expected across Rhode Island Tuesday and Wednesday. Heavy rain throughout Tuesday will be followed by a few potentially strong thunderstorms Wednesday, according to forecasters. A hazardous weather outlook has been issued across the entire state for Wednesday.
The National Weather Service said Tuesday's dry and cool weather will give way to showers after 11 a.m. Rain is expected to get heavier Tuesday night. Street flooding is a possibility. The Coventry could get up to three inches of rain. Winds will be roaring too with gust as high as 23 mph in the forecast.
On Wednesday, the weather becomes warm and muggy again with a high temperature near 76 as scattered showers and thunderstorms move in, especially later Wednesday. Wind gusts could reach up to 25 mph.

Most of Rhode Island is expecting up to two inches of rain from Tuesday morning to Wednesday night, though more could fall to the west.
