RI Weather: Flash Flood Watch Ahead Of Downpours, Storms
The heavy rain that starts today will become a familiar sight over the next week.

A flash flood watch has been called for all of Rhode Island as potentially heavy downfalls and thunderstorms are expected to wash over the region. The watch will be in effect through Sunday morning.
The rain is expected to start some time before noon Saturday and last in an on-and-off pattern into Monday. Primarily rain is expected Saturday - at rates of 2-3 inches per hour - with scattered thunderstorms set for Sunday, according to the Weather Channel. Some storms may start tonight, other forecasts say.
"Periods of showers along with embedded thunderstorms will impact the region today and tonight with the potential for localized rainfall rates of 2 to 3 inches per hour at rimes," the National Weather Service wrote. "The potential exists for these heavy showers to move over the same locations."
