RI Weather Forecast: Rain, Thunder Timeline Today

Tuesday may avoid a total washout, but the threat of thunder and some heavy rumbling across the region remains.

It looks like Tuesday will avoid a total washout, but 'hit or miss showers' will move across the region with a possibility for some thunder, the National Weather Service said. While the skies may cooperate more than initially forecast, the temperatures will still be unseasonably chilly.

The rain will be a consistent threat all day, particularly from the late morning to the early evening where it could be pretty heavy. Your evening commute home could see the worst of it, including that aforementioned thunder. You can see the timeline below:

The temperatures will be peak in the mid 60s this afternoon and dip into the 50s by the evening. It'll be a bit cooler Wednesday and Thursday, with temperatures expected to stay much closer to 60. Temperatures will begin to climb back into the 70s Friday.
