RI Weather Forecast: Rain Today, Then Lots Of Shine

Some light rain with the potential to intensify and bring some thunder is expected throughout the state. No weather watches or warnings have been issued as of 10 a.m. Tuesday.

The rain will come in from the west around 1 or 2 p.m. It's expected to stick around well into the evening.

The rain should remain light throughout the majority of the day, but there could be "heavier showers, with perhaps a rumble of thunder," the National Weather Service said.

The weather should rebound Wednesday with three partly cloudy days leading up the holiday weekend. As long as you don't wait to the last second, the getaway weather for your holiday vacation is expected to be perfect.

“For the Northeast, the days leading up to the holiday weekend will be promising with sunshine,” AccuWeather Chief Meteorologist Elliot Abrams said.
