It's time to bring out your rain coats and umbrellas: another wet week is in the forecast for Rhode Island. The National Weather Service is forecasting rain throughout the day on Thursday — less than ideal weather for trick-or-treating.

A storm is expected to hit the region later this week, bringing steady showers starting Wednesday and intensifying over the following days.

Rain could start in Rhode Island as early as late Monday night. There's a chance of light rain around midnight, continuing throughout the day on Tuesday. The likelihood of rain increases on Wednesday night, with showers likely throughout the day on Thursday and Friday.

Cloudy, with a high near 58. Northeast wind 8 to 10 mph.

Monday Night
Areas of drizzle between 9 p.m. and midnight, then areas of drizzle with a slight chance of showers after midnight. Cloudy, with a low around 49. Northeast wind 3 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Tuesday
Areas of drizzle with a slight chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 59. East wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Tuesday Night
A chance of showers, mainly after 10 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 52. Light east wind. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Wednesday
A chance of showers, mainly before 4 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 65. Calm wind becoming southeast around 6 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.
