Up to 2 inches of rain could fall in areas of the state. Here's when the rain will be at its heaviest.

(NWS Boston)

A hazardous weather outlook has been called for all of Rhode Island in advance of what forecasters are saying will be locally heavy rain and thunderstorms. The rainfall, which could get up to between 1-2 inches, will be at its heaviest this afternoon into the evening commute.

"Showers and scattered thunderstorms may produce locally heavy rainfall this afternoon into early this evening, which could cause local urban and poor drainage flooding," the National Weather Service said Tuesday morning.

While the whole region will get wet, Rhode Island is expected to get the worst of it. Here's how much rain to expect by the end of Tuesday.
