RI Weather: Heat Advisory In Place Until 6 P.M.

Most Rhode Island communities will top out somewhere in the mid 80s with the high in Newport reaching 85 degrees Tuesday afternoon.

Although Tuesday's humidity and high temperatures will not reach the level they did Monday, a heat advisory is still in place for much of Rhode Island.

Most Rhode Island communities will top out somewhere in the mid 80s with the high in Newport reaching 85 degrees Tuesday afternoon. Other cities will be hotter with Coventry reaching 90 degrees and Providence reaching 89 degrees.

Heat indices are not expected to be a big factor Tuesday.

With the exception of Coventry which has a heat index of 96 degrees, most other Rhode Island towns will only feel one to three degrees warmer than the actual high.

Wednesday - Partly cloudy with a high near 86.

Thursday - Scatter thunderstorms and a 50 percent chance of rain. The high for the day is 90.

Friday - Partly cloud with a high of 78.

Saturday - Partly cloudy with a high of 71. Temperatures expected to drop as low as 55.
