RI Weather: May Nor'easter To Bring Rain, Winter Temps
Mother's Day weekend will be cold and dreary, with some parts of the Northeast seeing some rare May snow.
RHODE ISLAND — It's heading into the second week of May, but you wouldn't know it looking at the forecast for the weekend ahead. This Mother's Day weekend won't have a good forecast for picnics and outdoor activities, as a nor'easter is expected to bring rain, freezing temperatures and, in some parts of the region, some late-spring snow.
Here in Rhode Island, precipitation is expected to stay as rain only. In nearby Massachusetts, the far-west side of the state could see as much as two inches of accumulation. Even though there won't be snow here, expect cold temperatures and chilly rain throughout the day Saturday, with highs only reaching the 40s.
On Sunday, skies will clear slightly, but temperatures will still remain cool.
