RI Weather: One More Round Of Storms Tonight

Another hazardous weather outlook has been called for Eastern and Central Mass. as today's heat clashes with an incoming cold front.

The threat of one more bout of storms has prompted another hazardous weather outlook for the region. Forecasters said scattered showers and thunderstorms that could bring strong winds and heavy downpours are expected Thursday afternoon and evening.

It's the third time this week a hazardous weather outlook has been issued for thunderstorms. Monday night saw some storms, while a tornado warning was issued in northern Massachusetts Wednesday as more than 11,000 lost power in the region.

The weather warning Thursday is for all of Rhode Island. There is no exact timeline available and some forecasts only show a slim chance of rain.

"The main threat will be gusty winds and heavy downpours," the National Weather Service said.

We still have some times before we get there. The morning fog will gave way to sunny skies and high temperatures that could hit 90 degrees.

That warm-up, coupled with an incoming cold front, will cause the storms that will follow.
