RI Weather Outlook: Another Major Storm Headed Our Way
Want some goosebumps? This pre-Halloween storm with tropical origins will give you shivers.

A major multi-day storm is headed our way Sunday, but your little monsters won't need to dress up as a fisherman just to trick-or-treat. The storm should end before Halloween on Tuesday. Until then, though, it'll be scary outside.
A storm with tropical origins will batter the Atlantic coast (it would be named 'Phillipe' if it received a tropical storm designation,) hitting New England Sunday and Monday. There are several varying forecasts right now, but what is clear is that heavy rain and wind will persist through Sunday night into Monday morning.

The National Weather Service forecast calls for 1-2 inches of rain through Sunday in Rhode Island, and nearly double that on the side of the state. AccuWeather said some northeast totals could approach 6 inches. Wind will again be a major factor, with gusts of more than 50 miles per hour expected. "Gusts close to hurricane force (74 mph) may occur along the coast of New England later Sunday night and Monday," AccuWeather Hurricane Expert Dan Kottlowski.
Travel with be a nightmare, and flooding will be a major concern, especially where fallen leaves have clogged the drain. The Monday morning commute to work and air travel is expected to be straight out of a Stephen King novel. The streets for Tuesday's trick-or-treating will likely still be slick; caution is advised.

"A brief storm surge could inundate low-lying coastal areas," in Massachusetts, AccuWeather Chief Meteorologist Elliot Abrams.
This storm comes only days after a mid-week storm dumped more than 3 inches on Rhode Island.
