RI Weather: Scattered, Severe Thunderstorms In The Forecast
Scattered, strong storms are possible throughout the evening, bringing the possibility of damaging wind gusts.

Thunderstorms, severe at times, are expected to roll through southern New England late Monday afternoon and evening, bringing the possibility of heavy rain and damaging wind gusts.
The National Weather Service issued a special weather statement for all of Rhode Island and much of Massachusetts and Connecticut. Small hail, gusty winds and periods of heavy rain are all possible.
Here in Rhode Island, storms are expected to begin after 3 p.m. and taper off by 8 p.m. On Tuesday, the chance of showers and thunderstorms continues, mostly after 2 p.m.

Monday Afternoon
Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms could produce small hail, gusty winds, heavy rain, and frequent lightning. Partly sunny, with a high near 87. South wind around 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Monday Night
Scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 8pm. Some of the storms could produce small hail, gusty winds, heavy rain, and frequent lightning. Patchy fog after 4am. Otherwise, partly cloudy, with a low around 69. Southwest wind 5 to 9 mph becoming light after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

A chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. Some of the storms could produce small hail and gusty winds. Patchy fog between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 91. West wind 6 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.

A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 7pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 62. Northwest wind 9 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
