RI Weather: 'Strong To Severe' Thunderstorms Follow Warm Temps
Afternoon highs will reach the mid-70s before strong thunderstorms move in later in the day.

RHODE ISLAND — Rhode Island will see some of its warmest temperatures of the year Friday, with afternoon highs expected to reach the mid-70s. Potentially severe thunderstorms are in the forecast for the evening hours, bringing periods of heavy rain and the possibility for hail or even an isolated tornado.
Massachusetts is expected to take the brunt of the storm, with most of Rhode Island at a "slight" risk of severe weather. All storms are expected to taper off by 10 p.m.
Expect warm weather for the first half of the day. Central Rhode Island could see highs of 77 degrees, with more warm weather in the forecast for the weekend. Saturday is expected to be 72 degrees and sunny, ahead of a slightly cooler, partly cloudy day Sunday.
