Several Schools Delayed Due To Extreme Cold
Over a dozen public and private schools will be delayed Thursday morning due to severely low temperatures.
With overnight temperatures dipping into the single digits and wind chills expected to fall below zero on Thursday morning, several Rhode Island schools have delayed classes and cancelled morning pre-K and kindergarten.
Public Schools
- Burrillville Public Schools: One hour delay, Thursday, 1/31; No morning preschool
- Cumberland Cumberland Public Schools: Delayed 1 Hour Tomorrow; No AM Prek-Alphabest opens 8am
- Foster-Glocester Elem and Reg Schools: 1 Hr Delay; No AM PreK Thursday
- Johnston Public Schools: Delayed 1 hour; No AM Pre K at Graniteville
- Lincoln Public Schools: Delayed 1 hour; No AM Pre-K
- North Smithfield Public Schools: Delayed 1 hour; No AM preschool.
- Northern RI Collaborative: Delayed 1 Hour tomorrow 1/31/19
- Scituate Public Schools: Delayed 2 hours; No AM PreK
- Woonsocket Viola M. Berard School: Delayed 1 hour
- West Warwick Public Schools: One Hour Delay 1/31/19 - No AM PreK
- Woonsocket Public Schools: Delayed 1 hour; No AM Pre-K
Private Schools
- High Road School of Providence: Delayed 1 hour; All Districts
- Woonsocket RIRAL Adult GED - ESL: Thursday: 1 hour delay; classes start at 10:30 a.m.
Catholic Schools
- Good Shepherd Regional School: Delayed 1 hour
- Greater Woonsocket Catholic Regional School: Delayed 1 hour
- Mercymount Country Day: Delayed 1 hour; Before Care opens at 8:45
- Mount St. Charles: Delayed 1 hour
- Monseigneur Gadoury Primary School: Delayed 1 hour
- St Patrick Academy: Delayed 1 hour; All students in by 8:35 a.m.
- Johnston St. Rocco School: Delayed 1 hour; No AM Daycare
