As has been the case for much of July, severe weather is back in the forecast for Rhode Island Wednesday afternoon.

The national Weather Service placed the entire state under a "slight" risk of severe weather, the second of five tiers. That means that scattered, severe thunderstorms are possible throughout the afternoon and evening hours, bringing the potential for strong downpours, high winds up to 60 mph and possibly large hail. The greatest risk will be from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m., the NWS said.

Here's a look at the latest Rhode Island forecast from the National Weather Service.
