Tennis Week Volunteer Charged With Stealing Swag Bags
Police gave a 63-year-old Burrillville woman a summons after the Hall of Fame wanted to press charges. She's accused of grabbing gift bags.

NEWPORT, RI — Police on Thursday handed a Burrillville woman a summons for allegedly taking gift bags meant for guests at a Tennis Hall of Fame event. Michelle I. Reid, 63, was volunteering at the Casino when she was accused of stealing. According to police, security at the Hall of Fame gave police a thumb drive with video allegedly showing Reid. As she walked past a hallway where the gift bags were lined up, she allegedly took one, went into a bathroom and emerged without the bag but with a pair of white sunglasses similar to the swag bag Fila sunglasses. She allegedly took another bag into a closet and left without the bag. She was charged with Larceny under $1,500. Reid denied the accusation.
