Uber's New Upscale Service Launches in Newport
UberSELECT promises a more high-end private car experience but claims to still be cheaper than a taxi.
Newporters will be able to slide a little lever in the Uber app to upgrade their ride request to the company’s new UberSELECT upscale service starting Saturday.
Uber announced that the service comes to Newport starting May 29 for Newport riders.
“It’s the same safe, affordable Uber service that riders enjoy worldwide, that’s more upscale than uberX but still cheaper than a taxi,” they said in a release.

Every SELECT rider will get a complimentary gift if they take a ride between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturday. The gifts come from one of seven local sponsors.
