[VIDEO] Sailors Mix It Up At Bacardi Newport Sailing Week

This past Thursday, June 23, competitors in Bacardi Newport Sailing Week were dazzled when a mixologist came into town.

Newporters kicked off a weekend of sailing with a trip to the Bacardi tent. This past Thursday at Fort Adams, cocktail mixologist Jonothan Pogash schooled competitors in the right way to make a cocktail before they set out on the beginning of Bacardi Newport Sailing Week, which unfurled it sails for day one of racing today and will continue throughout the weekend. The specialties of the night included hand-shaken daiquiris and pina coladas.

“These are the way that drinks should be made,” said Pogash, who took Patch through one of the recipes.
