Washington's Birthday Salute
Newport Artillery Salute to take place on Redwood Library lawn on Bellevue Avenue.
NEWPORT, RI—The Redwood Library plans to make a lot of noise in honor of George Washington's birthday, on Wednesday, Feb. 22. At 11:30 a.m., the Artillery Company of Newport will hold a cannon salute on the Redwood lawn, 50 Bellevue Ave.
The salute will take place next to the statue of George Washington, facing Old Beach Road. The library invites all to participate in "this colorful salute to our first president."
