NEWPORT, RI — Lane closings on the Newport Pell Bridge began on Tuesday. They were supposed to start Monday. But the Turnpike and Bridge Authority decided to delay the project due to Monday's weather. The project is to replace the concrete road bed and will take several years to complete.
