Weather Forecast: Up to 5 Inches of Snow Possible But 2-4 Inches Likely

NEWPORT, RI — Although the sun was shining this morning, an Alberta Clipper is coming through. The National Weather Service predicts the snow could start as early as noon.

According to the latest map, likely accumulations should be 2 inches around Charlestown and the Narragansett South Coast, but 3 inches in Newport and 4 inches for the rest of Rhode Island.

Tonight, the weather service says snow will be falling "mainly before 2 a.m.," but new snow accumulation should be less than an inch.
