Weekend Weather: Heavy Rain Ahead Of Spring Temps

Heavy rain is on the way for Friday night, but a sunny, spring-like weekend is ahead.

Spring temperatures are finally on the way for the weekend. After several past weekends of cold and snow, the sunshine are warmer temperatures comes as a breath of fresh air.

Before the sunny skies move in, period of heavy rain are expected throughout the day on Friday. Scattered showers are expected after 10 a.m., with heavy thunderstorms moving in late Friday night, along with patchy fog until about 2 a.m. Saturday.

Scattered showers, mainly after 10 a.m. Cloudy, with a high near 57. South wind around 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 11 p.m., then a chance of showers between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Patchy fog. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 42. Southwest wind 6 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
