Weekend Weather: Hot With Scattered Showers To End June

The last weekend of June will feel more like August, with soaring temperatures and the possibility for thunderstorms. The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather lookout for Southern New England for possibly severe thunderstorms on Saturday and Sunday.

Thursday and Friday are looking good, however, with nothing but blue skies and scorching high temperatures in the forecast. Thursday is set to reach 85, while Friday could be Rhode Island's first 90-degree day of 2019.

Once the weekend rolls around, the weather is expected to once again turn sour, with on-and-off showers expected throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday.

A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 3pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 84. Southwest wind 7 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.
