A significant winter storm brought Rhode Island to a halt Wednesday night into Thursday morning, covering the state in a thick blanket of white. The flakes kept flying throughout the morning hours, no doubt leading many to ask: but when is it going to stop?

The light, fluffy flakes will likely continue into the early afternoon, according to the National Weather Service, tapering off around noon.

As of Thursday morning, snowfall totals varied across the state, with northern areas reporting close to a foot of accumulation. Check the latest amounts using the NWS's interactive snow total map.
