Winter Storm Warning Expanded To RI; When To Expect Snow Arrival

Road conditions will be dangerous at the height of the storm, with one to two inches of snow falling per hour.

The impending snow storm set to hit Southern New England Wednesday night has created a lot of buzz in the state over the past few days, with up to a foot of snow or more expected in Rhode Island.

Wednesday morning, The National Weather Service expanded its Winter Storm Warning to include all of Rhode Island. The warning goes into effect at 7 p.m. and lasts until 1 p.m. on Thursday.

Most of the state can expect snowfall to start around 7 p.m. Once the first flakes fly, road conditions are expected to deteriorate quickly, with one to two inches of snow falling per hour, totaling eight to 12 inches of expected accumulation across much of Rhode Island.
