Witness Shows Police Video of Two Men Fighting in the Street

NEWPORT, RI – This time, the eyewitness with the video photographed a suspect punching and kicking a victim. He handed over the recording to help the police.

According to Newport police, Shawn Michael Kuiee, 29, of Newport was charged with simple assault and battery and vandalism, malicious injury to property.

Officers were called to Gould Street around 12:30 a.m. Monday for a report of two men fighting in the street.

During the fight, Kuiee allegedly punched the victim in the face.

The victim suffered minor facial injuries. His cell phone fell on the ground during the scuffle, and Kuiee allegedly damaged the phone.
