Woman Arrested for Argument at Newport Head Start

Police said she screamed and swore loud enough for children in a playground to hear.

Newport police arrested a 34-year-old Newport woman on Wednesday for disorderly conduct after she allegedly caused a scene at a local Head Start daycare on June 10.

Police said Nakisha Wright, 34, of 143 Third St., Newport, came to police headquarters on Wednesday 10:30 a.m. to find out why a detective had left a note on her door.

According to a police report, police wanted to talk to Wright about the June incident during which she allegedly screamed at another parent and used curse words loud enough for children in a playground to hear her.
