He called her a lesbian. She said he was gay. A Newport woman was charged with a felony for allegedly stabbing estranged husband in the arm.

NEWPORT, RI—Two men were drinking vodka Sunday night when one decided to go to his estranged wife's home and retrieve some clothing, according to the police report. Despite a no contact order, he and his friend went to Olga DeJesus's home in the Bayside Apartments, where a fight started.

He called her a lesbian. She said he was gay. As he went into her bedroom for his belongings, she pushed him and he fell into some unknown object, which scratched his stomach. DeJesus then went into the kitchen for a knife. She stabbed him in the living room.

His friend held him down when he tried to battle her for the knife and told her to leave. She left with the silver and black kitchen knife in her hand, the witness told police.

The friend said "his wife stabbed him," and added he otherwise didn't want to be involved. Police found blood-soaked couch cushions in the living room and blood on the floor. The dining room table was off center and other items also indicated there had been a struggle. The victim spoke Spanish was not able to manage much English.
