Council members are now eyeing a regular election ballot and planning another public work session in September so residents can weigh in on timelines, costs, and whether they even support the project yet.
   

• Block Island Beach House Liquor Expansion Rebuffed (upriseri.com) — New Shoreham's Town Council, acting as the liquor board, declined Block Island Beach House's request to extend its alcohol-service area onto a separate lot used for micro-weddings, citing policy and safety concerns. Instead, members urged the hotel to pursue a state-issued Class P catering license, which would allow limited off-site alcohol service without expanding the local license perimeter.
