• New Shoreham Panel Backs Bluff Erosion Permit, House Plan (upriseri.com) — New Shoreham's Conservation Commission has endorsed shoreline erosion work on Spring Street and a new single-family home, sending both applications to the Zoning Board with positive recommendations. The bluff project aims to slow erosion at a church property, while the house plan drew scrutiny over septic design, wells, pool drainage, native landscaping, and outdoor lighting before winning support.
• New Shoreham Delays Cannabis Buffer Vote to October (upriseri.com) — New Shoreham's Planning Board has postponed a decision on how large buffer zones around homes and child-focused sites should be for future cannabis retailers, pushing the issue to October. Members debated 100- versus 200-foot buffers, whether residential buffers are needed at all, and how far the town can go in limiting potential cannabis locations under state law.
• New Shoreham Board Sets Nov. 9 Dodge Street Lot Hearing (upriseri.com) — New Shoreham's Planning Board has scheduled a Nov. 9 public hearing on a proposed two-lot subdivision at 32 Dodge Street that would create a much smaller-than-required lot tied to an inn. Board members questioned why a substandard lot is needed, raised parking and survey concerns, and requested more information and advisory opinions before deciding.
