• New Shoreham Committee Delays Phase Two Resilience Vote (upriseri.com) — New Shoreham's Coastal Resilience Committee has delayed approving its phase two recommendations so members can align them with a recent resident survey and address questions about the town beach pavilion design. Committee members and a resident urged slowing down major design work until cost analyses and more public dialogue occur. The group is also probing long-term options for the vulnerable shoreline revetment and overcrowded roadside parking before sending final advice to town leaders.
   

• Town of New Shoreham, RI Issues Warning Regarding Email Scam Targeting Residents (blockislandtimes.com) — New Shoreham officials are warning residents and property owners about a fraudulent email impersonating the town Planning Board and demanding an "Application Approval Fee." If you receive this message, don't click links, don't pay, and instead forward it to town staff and report it to Rhode Island State Police. The town also reminds everyone that official emails end in "@newshorehamri.gov," never "@usa.com."
