• RI vessel becomes testing ground for naval innovation (wpri.com) — An 82‑foot Rhode Island Fast Ferry vessel based in North Kingstown has become the nation's first Coast Guard‑approved autonomous offshore service ship, testing technology that could shape future unmanned Navy operations. Outfitted by Blue Water Autonomy, the Atlantic Endurance now runs with cameras, sensors, and remote‑control systems while local leaders, including Sen. Jack Reed, focus on cybersecurity and safety before wider deployment.
   

• Taylor Farms was skipping required federal workplace injury reports at facilities where workers died (qz.com) — North Kingstown readers should know Taylor Farms' local plant was cited after an ammonia leak last November sent 13 workers to the hospital, and the company hadn't filed recent federal injury logs for the site. A broader Reuters investigation found many Taylor Farms facilities nationwide skipped required OSHA injury reporting, even where workers were killed or badly hurt, prompting questions about enforcement and worker safety.
