• Green Projects Cause Big Stink (ecori.org) — North Kingstown residents near Quonset Business Park are battling strong asphalt odors and a proposed sewage sludge pyrolysis plant they fear will worsen air quality and health risks. The town has filed open-records complaints and notified the EPA of planned legal action, while some neighbors are running for office and pushing to give North Kingstown more say over Quonset projects.
   

• Rhode Island lawmaker will resign, after report of her moving to South Carolina (bostonglobe.com) — North Kingstown residents' longtime state representative Julie Casimiro plans to resign after moving to South Carolina, ending her term earlier than expected. State leaders, including the House speaker and attorney general, urged her to step down amid questions about residency requirements, even though she had hoped to keep serving constituents remotely until January.
