Members also blasted a draft bus study, approved a backup transportation contract, advanced several bus and facilities items, and moved to improve transparency on agendas, minutes, and remote public comment.
2. North Kingstown Schools Face 2nd Open Meetings Complaint (upriseri.com) — North Kingstown residents should know the School Committee has publicly acknowledged a state Open Meetings Act violation and revealed a second complaint now before the Attorney General. Members are tightening agenda language, extending time to revise August 18 minutes, and joining other municipalities in seeking clearer state guidance, with key follow-up meetings set for September 14 and 22 on Romano Vineyard Way.
3. Ceremonies for 25th anniversary of 9/11 held around RI, Mass. (wpri.com) — North Kingstown residents have two ways to mark the 25th anniversary of 9/11 today, with Rhode Island Blood Center drives at Dave's on Gate Road from 9 a.m.–2 p.m. and at Dunkin' on Ten Rod Road from 4–7 p.m. The roundup also highlights bell-ringing tributes and ceremonies across Rhode Island and nearby Massachusetts for those wishing to participate elsewhere.
4. The results are in! Here's who won Wednesday's high school games in RI (newportri.com) — North Kingstown sports fans can catch up on Wednesday's results, including a tight 1-0 boys soccer loss to Central and a full slate of other RI high school scores. The roundup also lists tonight's statewide matchups, with North Kingstown volleyball traveling to La Salle for a 6:30 p.m. first serve.
