Warwick Driver Had No Front Plate, Did Have Glock And Pot, Police Say (patch.com) — North Providence police say a Warwick driver stopped on Mineral Spring Avenue for lacking a front license plate was found with a loaded handgun and packaged marijuana in his car. The man now faces multiple firearm and drug charges, with bail set and conditions including surrendering any weapons and his passport. Residents may notice increased enforcement on registration and plate violations.
3. On Your Dime: Rhode Island mayors traveling across the country on public funds (turnto10.com) — North Providence residents may be interested to know Mayor Charles Lombardi spent 26 days out of state on personal trips and an honor flight, with the town reporting no public or campaign funds were used. 4. R.I. House to consider bill legalizing human composting and water cremation (newenglandnewspress.com) — A North Providence lawmaker is again opposing a statewide bill that would legalize human composting and water cremation, even as supporters say residents want more environmentally friendly end-of-life options. The House is set to vote soon, while the Senate’s stance remains uncertain and regulators say they’d need more funding to oversee any new facilities.
5. Real Housewives of RI guest hit with felony fraud, drug charges (providencejournal.com) — A reality TV guest with alleged organized-crime ties is facing several felony charges, including accusations involving a building he owned in North Providence.
