NORTH PROVIDENCE, RI — The state recommended closing down the swim area at Governor Notte Park Beach in North Providence.
The department of health recommended the closure due to high bacteria counts.
"RIDOH will continue to monitor and review beach water quality through Labor Day," the department said in a media release. "The status of a beach may change as new data becomes available."
